	Binnen het lectoraat Excellence and Innovation in Education legt Sterre de nadruk op de verbinding tussen de jeugdhulpverlening en het (hoger) onderwijs. In 2022 is ze met een promotieonderzoek gestart en in 2024 heeft ze daarvoor een promotiebeurs van NWO gekregen. ‘Mijn doel is om bij te dragen aan een gezonde jeugdhulpverlening, voor zowel cliënten als professionals, door vanuit onderwijs, werkveld en onderzoek in lerende netwerken actief te onderzoeken hoe de weerbaarheid van jeugdprofessionals versterkt kan worden op basis van zingeving in werk.’

	Na gewerkt te hebben als pedagoog en psychomotorisch kindertherapeut, vanuit haar eigen praktijk en in de jeugdhulpverlening, is ze sinds 2020 docent Pedagogiek aan de HZ University of Applied Sciences.

	Sterre heeft Pedagogische wetenschappen gestudeerd aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam. Ze was voor de laatste twee jaren van het vwo al afgereisd naar het United World College in India en heeft ook haar academische opleiding daar afgesloten met een attitudeonderzoek in Mumbai.

	Within the Excellence and Innovation in Education professorship Sterre emphasizes the connection between youth care and (higher) education. She started PhD research in 2022 and received a PhD grant from NWO in 2024. 'My goal is to contribute to healthy youth care, for both clients and professionals, by actively investigating in learning networks, in education, the professional field and research, how the resilience of youth professionals can be strengthened based on a sense of meaning in work.'

	~~After working as a pedagogue and psychomotor child therapist, in her own practice and in youth care, she has been a teacher of Pedagogy at the HZ University of Applied Sciences since 2020.~~
