Luna van der Loos

Profiel:: Marine biologist and molecular ecologist specializing in seaweed biodiversity and their symbiotic interactions with microorganisms. I work as a researcher at the Naturalis Biodiversity Center, where I have access to an extensive historical collection documenting centuries of seaweed taxonomy. When I'm not in the lab, you can often find me along the Dutch coast—diving, snorkeling, or exploring the intertidal zone. Through a combination of descriptive and experimental approaches, I aim to connect biodiversity patterns with their underlying functional mechanisms.
