|summary=Bente Sinke is docent-onderzoeker bij de onderzoeksgroep Data Science. Ze is te omschrijven als een Zeeuw met een internationaal randje. Met een achtergrond in de ‘humanities’, een bachelor Liberal Arts & Sciences, een master History and Philosophy of Art in het Engelse Canterbury én een master Data Science and Society, positioneert zij zich graag in de raakvlakken tussen maatschappij en toegepaste data science. Aan de ene kant heeft ze aandacht voor hoe deze ontwikkelingen onze interactie met - of in - de maatschappij veranderen, daarnaast heeft ze oog voor het belang van transparante informatievoorziening en het verhaal wat data kan re(presenteren), zowel op ethisch als statistisch vlak. 
Als docent is zij betrokken bij stages, afstudeerprojecten en het doceren van de basisbegrippen van data science. Als junior-onderzoeker bij het lectoraat Data Science, houdt zij zich bezig met verschillende abstracte (maar ook visuele) machine learning-uitdagingen, aansluitend op haar specialisatie binnen de domeinen van tijdseries, geospatial en image analysis.
