Iarima joined the research group in 2020 and worked on the NEREUS project (New Energy and Resources for Urban Sanitation) where she studied resource recovery and the modeling and optimization of related processes.

Iarima is docent-onderzoeker bij het lectoraat Watertechnologie aan de HZ University of Applied Sciences. Ze behaalde in 2019 haar bachelor Chemical Engineering aan PUC Minas University, in Brazilië. Iarima begon bij HZ door stage te lopen via het Living Lab Biobased Brazil (collaboratie) programma, waarin ze assisteerde bij het bestuderen van een ‘ion exchange’ labopstelling. Dit was een samenwerkingsproject tussen de HZ en Evides Industriewaterarima is in 2020 tot de onderzoeksgroep toegetreden en heeft gewerkt aan het NEREUS-project (New Energy and Resources for Urban Sanitation) waarbij ze de terugwinning van hulpbronnen en de modellering en optimalisering van de gerelateerde processen bestudeerde. Momenteel blijft Iarima verbonden aan de samenwerking tussen HZ en Evides door studenten te begeleiden die de ‘ion exchange’ opdrachten uitvoeren. Daarnaast geeft Iarima gedeeltelijk les in het Water Management programma en is ze betrokken bij verschillende projecten van de Water Technology groep. Ze draagt vooral bij aan de projecten met modellering (optimalisatie, controle) en laboratoriumtaken.
