Olaf Timmermans

- Prof. dr. Olaf Timmermans is leading lector van het Applied Research Centre Vitality van de HZ en lector van de onderzoeksgroep Healthy Region. Hij begon zijn carrière in 1981 met de opleiding tot Verpleegkundige. Vervolgens werkte hij ruim twintig jaar in verschillende functies bij de (voorlopers) van Adrz en Emergis. Hij behaalde de titels Verpleegkundig Specialist aan Hogeschool Utrecht en een master in Nursing aan University of Cardiff. In 2002 is Olaf op de HZ als docent Verpleegkunde begonnen en sinds 2004 is hij aangesloten bij de vakgroep Verpleegkunde en Vroedkunde van de faculteit Geneeskunde en Gezondheidswetenschappen aan de Universiteit van Antwerpen. Olaf heeft in 2012 aan de Universiteit van Antwerpen zijn promotieonderzoek naar innovatie in de gezondheidszorg afgerond. Tot 2023 heeft hij zowel aan de HZ als Universiteit Antwerpen gewerkt. Olaf heeft een expliciete expertise in onderwijs en onderzoek, op bachelor, master en PHD-niveau, over het creëren van een gezonde regio. Naast zijn werkzaamheden aan de HZ is hij momenteel als gastprofessor verbonden aan de faculteit Geneeskunde en Gezondheidswetenschappen van de Universiteit Antwerpen.
