Zijn persoonlijke onderzoeksfocus ligt op toegepaste, toekomstige technologieën die vraagstukken rond systeemintegratie van hernieuwbare energiebronnen (zonne-energie, (offshore) windenergie, getij) oplossen, met name in de context van industriële en maritieme processen in de Zeeland en Vlaanderen.
