Het Groene Strand - Volunteer community
Het Groene Strand aims to protect Dutch beaches and ecosystems, relying on volunteers. To address gaps in engagement, proposed solutions include QR codes at beaches for awareness, a WhatsApp community for improved communication, and partnerships with universities to encourage student participation.

| Project description: | The mission of Het Groene Strand is to protect the beaches in the Netherlands and the local ecosystems related to these areas. Volunteers carry out most of the project. There are several frictions experienced by volunteers participating in different groups; there is a noticeable gap between active and passive volunteers, a need to raise more awareness between beach goers and tourists. And there is a need to improve internal and external communication. |
| Outcomes: | The ideas are to place QR codes and Signs at the beaches that could be scanned/seen and provide information about the Green Beach initiatives, to use a communication WhatsApp Community platform within which you can create separate channels for community and also a common channel, and to collaborate with universities and visit students especially with study programs that will be more interested such as Water Management and Global Project and Change management and also offer personality ECTs in exchange for participation in Green Beach activities. |
