About this project

Start date:02/03/2025
Project description:This research aims to understand why MBO 4 students in Tourism & Recreation/Hospitality choose to either continue their education in higher education (HBO) or enter the workforce. The study used desk research, brainstorming, and a survey to gather insights. However, due to low survey responses, conclusive results could not be drawn. The project also explores the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on students' decisions.
Outcomes:The study aimed to explore factors influencing students’ choices, such as financial concerns, job market opportunities, and the pandemic's impact on practical learning.

The survey response rate was insufficient, limiting the ability to draw definitive conclusions. Suggestions include improving communication and refining survey design for better participation in future research.

The study offered initial insights into students' views on careers in tourism and hospitality, which could help reshape perceptions of these sectors.
