About this project

Start date:02/03/2025
Project description:Insight in demand and supply in tourism is crucial for tourism management. Therefore, KCKT carries out research into the number and profile of tourists visiting Zeeland (demand) and into the number, size and type of tourism accommodations (supply). KCKT has created a database containing all accommodations in Zeeland, varying from hotels to campsites and holiday parks. This provides all necessary insights for policy makers, businesses and other relevant stakeholders. It is important that all data is up-to-date, as important decisions are based on these data. For instance: will it be allowed to develop a new hotel or holiday park? This issue arose because KCKT has a limited number of hours available to update the database. We have now reached the point where we believe the data is no longer up to date enough to be presented accurately and to provide reliable insights for stakeholders. Looking ahead, we want to prevent this by finding an efficient way to update the database and by creating effective visualizations to provide good insights.
